Yet another successful ‘Welcome to our Mosque’ Program was organised by the Centre for Islamic Studies Harmony Center in association with the Muslim Women’s Research and Action Forum, Masjids Federation of Mawanella and the Trustees of the Jennah Mosque of Mahawatte led by Mohamed Mikshard.
Nearly 800 visitors of other faiths attended the event including state officials, public servants including from the AGA’s Office, police personnel, medical professionals, school teachers and students and others from all walks of life. The Mosque Tour included a Guided Tour of the Mosque, Poster Walkthrough, Book Corner, Henna Corner, Hijab try-on Corner, Free Calligraphy of Visitors’ names, and Serving of Traditional Muslim Foods.
Asiff Hussein, Vice President, Outreach, CIS Harmony Center, thanked the Trustees of the Mosque for their exceptional support, concerned government agencies including AG’s Office, Islamic seminaries including Jamiah Naleemiah, Fathih Academy, Tanweer Academy and Haqqaniya Arabic College for their continued support in providing volunteers for the Mosque Tour and Calligraphy and the sponsors of the event, the Muslim Women’s Research and Action Forum supported by Diakonia.
He also thanked the Muslim Cultural Officer in Charge of Kegalle District, M.F.M.Rilwan for his support and assistance for the program, OIC Mawanella Lasantha Kaluaracchi and the AGA’s Office for their wholehearted support for the program.
